The difference usually isn't hands. It's where they were standing.
Good position makes an average save look easy. Bad position makes a great save necessary.
Out too far and you're beaten across. Too deep and you've given away the net.
The best goalies don't rely on quickness to fix bad positioning. They give themselves less distance to cover.
